Warsaw Wind Ensemble Conducting Competition 2019 is the first edition of the international competition for wind orchestra conductors, which will be held in Warsaw. This is the second such competition in Europe. Its implementation is connected with the growing number of graduates of wind orchestras conducting specialities from all over Europe and the world. The competition is open – it is addressed to all wind-orchestra conductors without age limits. The conductors will conduct renowned Warsaw wind orchestras. Taking place from July 28-30, 2019, the USM Conducting Workshop will be geared towards individuals conducting professionally for instrumental ensembles, including graduate students, educators leading public school band programs, and directors of community and collegiate wind ensembles. This year, they will be joined by guest artist Eugene Migliaro Corporon, Director of Wind Studies at the University of North Texas. The USM Conducting Workshop offers three tracks of participation which cater to the individual needs of each participant. Los Angeles Conducting Institute at Caltech June 24-28, 2019

The Los Angeles Conducting Institute at Caltech is pleased to offer one full tuition scholarship ($1090 USD) to a qualified overseas applicant who is a WASBE member.  Registration begins January 15, and the deadline for scholarship applications is February 15, 2019. Featured faculty include conductors H. Robert Reynolds and Glenn D. International Conducting Studies Conference 2019 in Sydney, Australia

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music/University of Sydney in collaboration with Oxford University are hosting an International Conducting Studies Conference 2019 2-4 August in Sydney. WASBE members are invited to consider submitting an abstract for a presentation at the conference. This is the first time that there will be a focus on wind bands so it would be wonderful to have an international presence. Details are attached. August in Sydney is also a good time to escape the summer heat! The deadline to apply is December 3 at Midnight Sydney time. More information here

Online registrations are now being accepted for the 2019 University of Central Florida Conductors Symposium, February 1 & 2 in Orlando, Florida (USA).
