“La Bacchetta d’Oro” International Band Competition

The Unione Musicale Ciociara (UMC) announces the XXII “La Bacchetta d'Oro” International Band Competition on 7 and 8 May 2022. In this edition, the winning works of the Original Composition Award for Band "La Bacchetta d'Oro" (July 2021) will be included as a "Obligation Piece". Competition rehearsals will be held at the Nestor Theater in Frosinone - Viale Giuseppe Mazzini n ° 11 - CAP 03100. Warsaw Wind Ensemble Conducting Competition 2021 is the second edition of the international competition for wind orchestra conductors, held every two years in Warsaw. This is the second competition of its kind in Europe. It has been established to recognize the growing number of graduates of wind orchestras conducting specialities from all over Europe and the world. The competition is open – it is addressed to all wind-orchestra conductors without age limits. The competition is organized by the Warsaw Wind Music Association. The Jeju Composition Competition for Wind Ensemble (JCCWE) is an international event held annually by the Jeju International Wind Band Festival Organizing Committee to give recognition for wind ensemble. The first Competition is to be held from 1 May to 6 December 2021. It aims also promoting Jeju Island as the island of peace and culture and enhancing the national image of Korea. One of Japan's preeminent conductors, Yoshihiro Kimura has earned worldwide respect for both his remarkable interpretive skills and his outstanding transcriptions for wind orchestra. His many recording credits are regarded as definitive reference sources, and he has a long association with his country's professional band scene. A product of the Osaka College of Music, Kimura studied clarinet with Shinjiro Nakao, Yukio Ohashi and Rudolf Jettel, and trained for conducting with Takashi Asahina.
