International Conductor Scholarship Program

The WASBE International Conductor Scholarship Program assists conductors in studying at a conducting workshop in a country other than their own. This exchange not only adds to the participant's musical development but enables all of the participating conductors to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the musical life of other cultures. The scholarships, which are offered by the participating conducting workshops, include the costs for tuition and often room and board as well.

The main application period each year is in March and April, but other opportunities sometimes arise during the year. Such opportunities are posted to this page (and are usually published in the WASBE Newsletter as well).

Eligibility

Any current member of WASBE.

To Apply

Complete the application form [PDF; 110K] and submit it to the address below (deadline dates vary depending on when the workshop is held, but submitting as soon as possible is always advised).

Additional Information

If you have questions, require further information about the WASBE International Conductor Scholarship Program, or wish to offer a scholarship for your workshop, you may contact the chair of the Conductor Development Committee by e-mail or fax.
