The Harmoniemusik Academy will be given for the second time by Urs Bamert (CH), Isabelle Ruf (CH) and Bastiaan Blomhert (G) and will deal with the many aspects of Harmoniemusik, the classical music for eight or more wind instruments that came into existence since the middle of the 18th Century.

Not only the art of interpretation and ensemble techniques, but also the conducting of a small group will be central topics in this course. Apart from rehearsels and performances clinics and lectures about performing practrice, repertoire, historical topics as well as other aspect of Harmoniemusik will be offered. There also will be several concerts during the week with the ensembles.

The Academy welcomes Harmoniemusik ensembles and individual instrumentalists (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn) from the ranks of professional musicians, music students, advanced amateur players and conductors. The Helicon Ensemble (Maastricht, The Netherlands) will be available as demonstration group and will assist the conductors.

The course will be in both English and German and could be also of interest for musicologists who specialize in this realm of music.

The sessions will take place in the Hotel Laudinella, St. Moritz, a prolific venue, that offers well-equipped rehearsel rooms and a concert hall, midst in the Swiss Mountains of Grison.
